Gong Description: The 22" symphonic gong (tam tam) produces beautiful, clear tones with a warm bass and harmonious overtones. The gong responds beautifully when playing gently or aggressively. You will feel & experience the pleasant vibrations when you listen or play.

Symphonic gongs have a similar design as the Planets, with one major difference: the Symphonics are not tuned whereas the Planets are. Because each Symphonic gong is not tuned it will produce more variation of tone when striking different spots on the gong-face compared to a Planet gong. Therefore, the Symphonic's sound is more varied & spread out than the Planet's. Yet the Symphonic gong still has a very warm, soothing bass & therefore, on the whole, it is a great balance between grounding (bass) and expressiveness (variation of tone & rich dynamics). This may be why it is the gong of choice for many Kundalini yoga practitioners and sound therapists.
