LP now offers the instrument integral to the one/two pulse of the samba: the LP Surdo. The LP Aluminum Surdo is a light weight shell designed in the traditional Brazilian manner. It produces more of a metalic tone than the Wood Surdo. Both the Aluminum and Wood Surdos produce great depth, regardless of whether they are struck open or muted. The LP Surdo yields the required bottom-end to underpin the Carnaval dance/march. Note that a special radius top promotes hand comfort and access to the top head. Ten tuning rods positioned below rim level to add to comfort and enable stable tensioning. A leg set is included.
