(Note: Animal skins are a natural product & may vary to some degree from the skins in the photos)

Description:  Each steer skin is pre-cut and are ready to be soaked & mounted on a Conga or other drum.  Our Steer Skin & steer skins make great drum heads for Congas, Taiko drums, Batas, & Tamboras.  Steer Skin & steer for drum heads are virtually identically in how they play.  The tone they produce is mellower & slightly richer than water buffalo drum skins.

Skin Material: Steer

Note: Thin skins produce the brightest timbre.  Thick skins produce the driest timbre with the deepest & warmest bass tone.  Medium skins have a good balance of dry & bright.

Review

I have bought nine (9) skins from Artdrum over the years. I keep coming back because of the quality of the skins and their help, whether discussing what kind of skin to get (Steer Skin, steer, bleached, horse) or measuring the rims for a flesh hoop; he is there from beginning to end.  ~J.C., IL, USA, 1/15
