Gong Description: The 20" symphonic gong (tam tam) produces beautiful, clear tones with a warm bass and harmonious overtones. Since this is the smallest of the symphonic gongs it is also the highest pitch. But it's bass tone is still present and very pleasing.

Symphonic gongs have a similar design as the Planets, with one major difference: the Symphonics are not tuned whereas the Planets are. Because each Symphonic gong is not tuned it will produce more variation of tone when striking different spots on the gong-face compared to a Planet gong. Therefore, the Symphonic's sound is more varied & spread out than the Planet's. Yet the Symphonic gong still has a very warm, soothing bass & therefore, on the whole, it is a great balance between grounding (bass) and expressiveness (variation of tone & rich dynamics). This may be why it is the gong of choice for many Kundalini yoga practitioners and sound therapists.

Stand Description: Holds up to 24" gongs. This circular stand has aluminum hoop and feet; the feet are about 5 inches tall. The feet are removable, but the hoop size is fixed. The inside diameter of the hoop is about 28 inches. The total height of the stand is about 32 inches tall. Easy to play gong from seated or standing position. This is the lightest style stand we have and weighs about 7 lbs. The hollow circular hoop and feet keeps it very light and makes it very easy to travel with.

Floor Stand Description: Designed by Paiste specifically for their 20" gongs. This is the best and strongest floor stand. It is about 5 - 6 lbs heavier than the CB stand; it's weight, strength, balance and legs are all better than the CB circular stand. The CB circular stand is an economical option, but the Paiste floor stand is a professional grade stand.
