the terms, doumbek and darbuka interchangeably. Both doumbeks and darbukas
are part of a larger category of drums called
Goblet Drums. Darbukas (aka doumbeks or dumbeks) are a classic Middle
Eastern drum used in traditional music, belly dancing, folk music among other
music venues. We offer many styles of darbukas. At Artdrum you can
find tuned and pre-tuned darbukas; thin and wide necked darbukas; rounded rims
or square rimmed darbukas; small and large darbukas. You will also find

Artdrum sells a variety of metal and ceramic Turkish, Pakistani and Egyptian, darbukas. The metal shells of our Middle East darbukas are typically made from brass, copper, aluminum & nickel. The heads on our doumbeks, include, fish skin, goat skin, synthetic-plastic and Remo's patented synthetic heads, which simulate animal skin.
Generally, our darbukas have clear & crisp high tones (TEKS) as well as soothing bass tones (DOUMS). Artdrum offers drums that produce a wide range of pitches. Our darbukas are commonly used by Middle Eastern percussionists, professional drummers, belly dancers, drum circle enthusiasts and even Latin percussionists.
