Overview
The Remo Hira Daiko feature an Acousticon™ shell with heavily reinforced bearing edges for durability. The Nuskyn® film used on these instruments was specifically developed for our line of Taiko drums. All Hira Daiko drumheads are pre tuned and the heads are tacked onto the body of the drum in the traditional manner.
History
Hira means stout or flat which describes the Hira Daiko shape; the diameter of the drum is always greater than the depth of the drum shell. All Hira Daiko have drumheads that are tacked to their rims. Traditionally Hira Daiko were played at festivals and other social gatherings, but are now used in a wide variety of Taiko ensembles.
