Chau Gong
The chau gong, also called the Chinese Gong
as well as the "diplomatic gong" is multi-phonic instrument. It has a strong fundamental and many over & undertones. From about 18" and larger the multiple frequencies of Chau gongs become excitingly dynamic!The chau gong is sensitive enough to be used in musical settings and strong enough to serve as siren. It is called the "diplomatic gong" because it is often used to alert & grab people's attention. It is perfect for showrooms & sales floors - indeed, there's nothing like a big gong hit after the close of a successful deal.
In China it is traditionally used to announce the arrival of a special guest
