The Remo ocean drum heads and shell are very strong and durable. The top of the Ocean Drum is headed with Remo Mylar drum head. These heads virtually unaffected by weather and changing temperatures. You don't have worry about tuning these drums as they hold their tuning for years, if not decades. Mylar is also very strong. The first head Remo Belli ever produced was made from Mylar. Remo's been making Mylar heads for over 40 years, and so it is a tried and trusted drum head that is durable and maintains it's tension even in changing weather conditions.

Both the drum shell and head can be cleaned with a moist cloth once in a while simply for the sake of removing dirt and keeping it the best shape as possible. Other than that the Remo Ocean Drums are virtually self maintaining. Have funning listening to the surf and jamming!
