Remo Soloist doumbeks are part of the Remo Ergonomical Doumbek drum series. The Soloist one of the greatest doumbeks on the market.
The Soloist doumbek shells are made with Remo's special Acusticon material. Acusticon is a speciallly pressed wood fiber, which Remo can mold into the drum shells. It's very durable, so a good drum to travel with. Most importantly, Acusticon shells are musical and responsive. They produce the classic, clear, crisp techs and warms, rich doums.
In addition to the Acusticon drum shell the out part of the shell has a special Metalized finish. This finish gives the drum a beautiful, polished look and more importantly, enables the doumbek to achieve a great range of tones. This drum produces high, crisp techs and beautifully warm, deep basses.
The Soloist is also specially weighted, which makes them very comfortable to hold.
Even though these are pro drums, beginners can use them too. In fact, they are great instructional drums for several reasons: The shells and materials are very strong and durable; they are comfortable to hold; and they are so responsive that it is easier to play them.
The Soloist Doumbeks are special order drums. Remo puts care and craftsmanship into every one. They will make one especially for you. It takes Remo about 3 months to complete each drum.
