It is sensitive, responds quickly & has an incredible sustain. It is most soothing when played at soft to medium volumes and is amazing for sound mediation, sound message and music therapy. Further, it is great as a solo instrument, or part of a percussion set-up, or in a band, or symphony. As a rule of thumb, the larger the gong the lower the bass tone, so the 38" has a very low and deep bass. The Paiste 38" Symphonic gong will wash you with good vibrations; it is an amazing gong!
