The LP wood Surdo is a light weight shell designed in the traditional Brazilian manner. It produces a slightly warmer tone than the Aluminum Surdo. Both produce great depth, regardless of whether they are struck open or muted. The LP Surdo yields the required bottom-end to underpin the Carnaval dance/march. Note that a special radius top promotes hand comfort and access to the top head. Ten tuning rods positioned below rim level to add to comfort and enable stable tensioning. The leg set is included.
