Wuhan Opera Gongs

Opera Gong

Opera Gong & Gong Stand Wuhan Opera Gongs

List Price: $144.00

Sale Price: $87 (includes tax & shipping in U.S.)

Includes: Gong mallet; does not include the stand

Description: Opera gongs are great for adding an intense dramatic effect, the change in pitch is obvious.  Opera gongs are known for having pitches that bend.  Some opera gongs have pitches that ascend and other opera gongs have pitches that descend.  The size of the gong is not the only determining factor for determining the direction of the bend.  For instance, some 12" opera gongs are ascending, while other 12" ones are descending.

An ascending gong will produce it's initial tone upon being struck and then after approximately 2 or 3 beats the pitch will bend higher (ascend).

A descending gong will produce it's initial tone upon being struck and then after approximately 2 or 3 beats the pitch will bend lower (descend).

The 12" opera gong produces mild overtones; the sound is unique and beautiful, and somewhat other worldly.

NOTE: IF YOU PREFER A CERTAIN BEND (ASCENDING OR DESCENDING), THEN PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE ORDERING SO WE CAN CHECK ITS AVAILABILITY FOR YOU.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PREFERENCE AS TO THE BEND, THEN WE WILL SELECT YOU EITHER AN ASCENDING OR DESCENDING ONE.

Delivery: FedEx Ground, arrives in 3 - 5 business days.
