The 34" chau is great for many activities, including meditation; sound baths; rhythmic music; sound effects; celebrations; ceremonies; and visual decoration.  It's great for office, home, studio or stage.  It's beautiful when played at soft and medium volumes, plus when crescendos (gradually increasing the volume) are played on it, the gong will sing while increasing in intensity and vitality.  Plus, if you want to add a strong percussive feel, play it with two mallets.

Sabian Stand with Rounded Corners: designed to hold 34" gongs; weighs about 27 lbs. This stand is heavier than the square stand.  It is a solid, heavy-duty metal stand with smooth black painted finish.  Its feet are short so the stand remains low to the ground.  This makes it easy to play while sitting or knelling on the ground. Since it's heavier and bulkier than the square stand it's not the best option for travel.  But it has excellent balance and, like the square stand, it can be used indoors or outdoors, on stage or on carpet.  This stand is very sturdy; it has excellent balance and is very durable.
