LP's Giovanni Galaxy fiberglass congas are beautiful to the eye and ear. They are the highest quality fiberglass congas.
The fiberglass shell gives you great resonance. The Galaxy shell is a good balance between bright and dry conga sounds. They are a great balance of bright and dry. Their fiberglass shell is are more bright than the LP and Matador wood congas, but less bright than the Patato fiberglass congas. Listen to sound samples and compare the sound of Galaxy fiberglass conga sound to the Patato fiberglass congas; Classic wood congas; and Galaxy wood congas
The Galaxy fiberglass shell has Kevlar lining on the inside of the shell. The Kevlar lining makes the shell the strongest of all the LP fiberglass shells. The Kevlar also makes the Galaxy congas a little thicker and reduces some of the brightness in the tone.
The Galaxies use LP's highest quality hardware and premium, hand selected, water buffalo hide for their heads.
The beautiful sparkle finish on the fiberglass Galaxy congas actually looks like a galaxy of stars! No instrument or conga maker could have done a better job. The sparkles are within a gel, which is infused into the shell during the production process. The appearance of the shell is an achievement; a beautiful work. And yet the sound and play of the drum is even greater. It's a perfect Artdrum.
