Q: What materials are congas made with?
A: Conga shells are made of wood or fiberglass. Conga hardware - rims, lugs, nuts & bolts, etc. - are made of metal. And conga heads are made from rawhide skin or synthetic materials.
The traditional Cuban Conga was made from olive barrels or steam-bent staves of wood glued together with a calf or buffalo head tacked to it, but now congas are made from various types of woods and fiberglass.
Artdrum offers the whole line of LP congas. The various styles, shape variations, colors and materials are all available at discounted prices.
