Description: The ultimate shaker & the ultimate shekere! Perfectly shaped and balanced shekere; excellent bead work. The fiberglass shell is wrapped with a lattice of Jenigor plastic beads.

Designed with the help of LP artist and percussionist Roger Squitero

The high-tech fiberglass shell produces down-to-earth, warm and authentic shekere sounds.  And unlike the traditional gourd shell this shekere is durable.  LP sets the standard with this shekere.  It is the most durable and dependable shekere available.

Authentic shekere tones, timbres & effects which are uplifting & exciting!

Produces loud, high pitched shaker and rattle sounds

The large fiberglass body has a thick neck and wide mouth.  It produces extremely low bass tones when struck on the bottom

A rubber ring surrounds the mouths of the shekere to protect

Cool looking black and orange beads.  The beads are hand strung in the finest traditional fashion.

Basic Shekere History & Playing

The shekere’s history begins in Africa where this unique instrument serves as a shaker, a rattle, and a drum.  Traditionally made from hollowed gourds wrapped in a lattice of stones, the instrument is popularly played by shaking or twisting it to get shaker and rattle sounds & by hitting the bottom of the body with the palm of the hand to get drum-like bass notes.   Tapping, scratching other creative techniques are also used.

Delivery: FedEx Ground, typically arrives in 2 - 5 days in continental U.S.
