Sale price: $149

Shipping in the continental U.S.: $40

Total: $189, includes shipping in the continental U.S.

The Utar has the Lowest Pitch of all the LP Udus

The bell chamber creates very bright, wet sounds, while the shell can create “cowbell” type sounds

Main body’s flat surface makes this an ideal drum for conga and bongo players

The Utar is generally played in a seated position with the drum on the player's lap. They can also be played on a table top or floor using the included straw ring stands. It is usually played by hitting any part of the drum with the palm of the hand or the finger tips. The textured surface provide additional tonal variations by creating rubbing & scratching sounds.

Includes: Includes: Straw Sitting Ring (allows you play comfortably on a table top or floor)

Features: A mic hole - attaching a mic increases the tonal possibilities and is great for live performances and recording sessions.

The word "Udu" comes from the Nigerian Ibo language and means "pottery".  The simple, but solid clay construction is based upon centuries-old African traditions.  Udus reveal the close relationship between pottery & musical instruments.
