Large Chau Gongs
We carry a range of large chau gongs. Our 52" chau (aka
Chinese) gong is made by Sabian, in their Canada facility. Our other chaus are made in China, by established Chinese gong makers, including Wuhan.All of our chau and Chinese gongs are hand-made. They are remarkable instruments and the makers are remarkable artisans. They are made from molten metal, fire, knowledge and grit. The chaus are composed of 80% copper & 20% tin. They are made to last, virtually, forever. We do not expect you will be need to rely on the warranty, but our manufacturers back up their gongs with a one year warranty against any type of crack or break.
